Newly built 2000 sq. ft. home between the 2nd and 3rd Crossing of the Guadalupe River that sleeps 16 with two master bedrooms, two guest rooms, and three bathrooms. Before stepping foot in the house, you'll know that this is the place to be with a fire pit in the yard (fire wood not provided) and walkway leading directly into the river. The home sits proudly atop piers with outdoor staircase leading to the porch overlooking the water. The ground under the home is open air with spots for parking. The upstairs porch boasts 180 degree view of the river, and full length sliding glass doors open up into the grand room of the house. This property is located next to Sons Guadalupe cabana & Glamping tent rentals.

The first guest room has a full over full bunk bed with a trundle as well as a twin over twin bunk. The second guest room has 2 queen beds. Both guest rooms have river views as well. The guest bathroom with a tub/shower combo is conveniently located by both guest rooms and near the living area. The second master bedroom has a king bed and twin bunk beds. This master room also has a private bathroom with a tub/shower combo. There is a sofa sleeper in the living room as well. All bathrooms come stocked with hotel size amenities, towels, and two rolls of toilet paper. High quality linens are provided for all beds and bathrooms.

This home is located a door down from Bezdek's, which is the perfect place to rent tubes and float away! There is entertainment for all up and down river road. Just a short drive to Gruene and downtown New Braunfels, which both offer fine dining establishments, entertainment, and numerous activities. Gruene Hall is the oldest dance hall in Texas and a famous landmark. Gruene also offers great shopping, restaurants and wine tasting. Close to the outlet malls, Schlitterbahn and Canyon Lake. Guests must be 25 years of age or older to make a reservation and must be staying at the property. No pets allowed. This home has a maximum occupancy of 16 guests. This maximum occupancy is not to be exceeded at any time. No daytime guests allowed. You can park 4-5 vehicles at this property. To comply with city and county short-term rental permit restrictions, the outdoor areas of this home are monitored by video camera. Fat Guy Float Trip

Southern Comfort New Braunfels visit

We had a great time! There's still water in the river at this home. Only downfall is it's directly next door to a resort which offers day rentals of cabanas. Cool place, but if you are looking for a more remote, private, gathering you may want to get further down the river!

Family Vacation

Nice 3 day family vacation. This house is located about 1 mile downstream from the tube shoot. The area in front of the house is nice for relaxing in the water and is only 4 to 5 feet deep at the most. The house was very large and the deck was nice in the mornings. We had 11 during our stay.

Great House

The house was equipped with everything we needed for cooking and bathing. The layout inside was spacious, and the house was beautifully decorated. We loved the big island in the kitchen. We hung out around that a lot. Plenty of games left by the owners for our kids. We had a problem with one shower that everybody was slipping in. I emailed the property’s maintenance, and it was taken care of quickly. The bunk room and two of the bedrooms needed ceiling fans in them. They were hotter than the rest of the house. We went and bought a box fan. The master bedroom stayed cold. The only downfall is the photos didn’t show that there is an adjourning property named Son’s Guadeloupe. It has tiki huts and glamping tents. On Saturday when we got there, of course, it was busy next door. By Sunday it cleared out. We got to watch them clean the porta potties each morning, thrill. The next-door property’s guests used our exit to get out of the water and walk across our grass. We didn’t care, though. The ants were a problem walking down to our river entrance, and the grass was high when we got there. They mowed by Monday. I have always been told to figure out the solution to your problem before you complain. Solution: mow before guests arrive, put ceiling fans up, maybe more cement down by the staircase before you enter the water since the ants were bad down there or treat for ants, Son’s next door...maybe just advertise that it is next door so it’s not a shocker.

Unfortunately due to the excessive amount of rain we have had the lawn crews have been behind and we apologize that it was an inconvenient time for them to mow. We will definitely address the Ant issue, had you let us know when you contacted us about the slippery shower we would’ve been happy to of brought some ant killer, we appreciate you letting us know so that we can address the issue. Sons Guadalupe has only been there for a year and when we built this listing it was not there but I have since updated the listing so people will be aware of this campsite right next-door. We have also added no trespassing signs with private property and the address down by the water entrance so that the campers know that is not their exit. We look forward to hosting you next year!

Family vacation

We were 16 family members, and we never felt squeezed in. The property is very spacious, with lots of room for everyone. We did have to go buy fans, because the bedrooms without ceiling fans were very warm at nights. Otherwise, a very comfortable and beautiful home.

Great Weekend Getaway

Southern Comfort is a great weekend getaway. The house has plenty of room and all the things you need for a relaxing stay. The views from the house are fantastic. The house is very clean and well maintained. The location is great as it is just a short drive to Gruene or New Braunfels. Great for the value

There were 12 of us and this was the perfect size, everyone had a bed and the beds were very comfortable considering most were bunk beds. The location was great on the river & right next to a tube rental company. We ended up using a different rental place but it was only a 7 minute drive away. My only complaint was that the AC & refrigerator were turned off prior to our stay so it took a long time to cool off the place and the food/drinks. The thermostat was tricky too, the people who arrived earliest couldn't figure it out so when we arrived around 7:30/8, it was still 80 degrees inside. I understand saving money when no one is renting but if it could be left to a higher temp, with better instructions or even turned down the morning before you arrive it would have been much more pleasant.

2019 Family Vacation

It is hard to put into words how magical our stay was at this home. We loved that it was a new home, decorated beautifully and right ON the RIVER. It doesn’t any sweeter than that. The lower deck is where we spent most of our time when not floating the river. New Braunfels Escape was terrific to work with. The staff was always gracious and kind. We will be using them again!

Perfect home, perfect location

Southern Comfort is the perfect river rental! I’ve rented homes in New Braunfels multiple times before but none compare to this one! The best location right on the water with the most gorgeous views. The deck made the perfect spot for relaxing all together. It is walking distance to a tube rental place which made floating very convenient. There is also plenty of parking which is a big plus. The property manager was great and promptly answered any questions we had! I would definitely recommend this house to others. We can’t wait to return! Thanks for a great weekend!

Southern Comfort

The house was nice, clean, etc. Our only concerns were:
The steep and many stairs were only entrance which made it very difficult and concerning for children, disabled son in law and elderly person.
The sliding door to the deck from the main room was key locked and none of us were able to unlock it with many attempts.
There was no service for any of 11 cell phone using adults with various servers. We had to drive a distance to be able to call and make reservations in town. Otherwise, as I mentioned, the house was lovely...and these concerns for us might not affect others.

Finding a home online can be tricky. Pictures are oftentimes misleading & verbal descriptions exaggerated. Not with Southern Comfort! If anything the pictures did not do it justice.
We arrived to a very clean & well appointed home with spacious decks all around & a fabulous patio deck below.
We brought 12 kids with us and never felt cramped.
The management company was professional & quick to handle anything we needed help with.

Southern Comfort Thanksgiving 2018

Our Family (6 adults, 5 children 7-11 yrs) spent 4 nights @ Southern Comfort and enjoyed every moment. The children loved the bunk beds and the adults loved the roomy kitchen/family room. This house was newly built under the new flood control requirements and offered upgraded appliances, great view and river access. Everyone associated with the rental was helpful and provided an easy check-in/check-out. We enjoyed great hamburgers at the Lone Star (within walking distance) and visited nearby Natural Bridge Caverns, San Antonio (Mexican Food, River Walk & Alamo) and Gruene Hall. Everyone loved the trip.

Extravagant River Stay

Perfect Location

Perfect location! Brand new house and so close to the river! Beautiful views from wrap-around deck. The house had everything we needed and plenty of room for everyone. We caught fish in the river right in front of the house. Easy steps down into river were a bonus! Enjoyed the short drive to Gruene for shopping and dining, too. Tube rental places nearby.
